Saltillo, Mexican & Brick Pavers
Saltillo, Mexican and Brick Pavers are comprised mostly, if not completely, of clay. They are often very porous and therefore extremely versatile. They can be colored, sealed and finished an infinite variety of ways creating a look to suit any décor whether you have a new installation or wish to refinish your existing pavers The Stone Medic can make your Pavers look new again.
Paver Stripping and refinishing
Pavers are often sealed with a topical sealer or surface coating upon installation. This protective coating wears out without periodic maintenance. When the coating deteriorates and begins to crack and chip, it loses its ability to repel stains, oils, dirt, and other contaminates. Soon thereafter the pavers become a candidate for refinishing.
Stripping is done using a series of products suitable for the removal of the specific type of sealer on the pavers. Once the pavers have been fully stripped and detailed, they can be treated as though they were a new installation, allowing for coloring, staining, sealing and finishing as desired.

Topical sealers or surface coatings applied to pavers, brick, slate, and sandstone need periodic maintenance. These coatings wear down due to abrasive foot traffic and cleaning procedures.
For topical sealers the maintenance procedure includes the following:
Small furniture items and personal belongings are shifted as necessary, all significant furniture and area rugs remain in place, although rugs are usually rolled at the edges.
The stone is thoroughly scrubbed clean with a mild cleanser. Cleansers, dirt and rinse water are fully extracted from the stone and grout.

Several coats of sealer are applied by hand in the same manner as the original sealer application. With this process the floor looks as good as it ever did before, every time maintenance is completed.
