WHY SHOULD PAVERS BE SEALED?
Pavers today are mostly made of concrete, which is a porous material, susceptible to all kinds of staining and marking. Oil, grease and rust are very difficult to remove from unsealed pavers because they are so easily absorbed. Unsealed pavers retain water for long periods, creating and ideal situation for mold and mildew to grow.
RE-SANDING JOINTS FOR STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY.
The Stone Medic will clean your pavers and the joints in between to remove weeds, mold, and old sand before installing new joint sand to level and stabilize the surface. Sand between the joints is crucial to ensure a stable paver system. Without joint sand pavers will sink, tilt and shift. Empty joints will fill up with dirt, mildew, and mold creating and environment for vegetation and insects. Our Paver Sealing process will provide protection for your pavers and lock the sand in the joints.
After sanding we flood the pavers and joints with our sealer to lock them in place. Many companies will only clean pavers and seal pavers skipping an important sanding step. The Stone Medic offers a full restoration package from paver repairs, paver cleaning, to re-sanding and paver sealing.
